Mission and Vision

We grow and optimize single crystals of existing material for experimental research needs, and explore the possibility of novel physical properties through post treatment such as intercalation and substitution. We provide training and internship opportunities to the potential crystal growers in the condensed matter science fields. Single crystals can be supplied to the research community through collaboration and assisted growth. Major development directions include: • Re-discover the “old material” in its single crystal form with today’s better measurement tools. • Design new materials through thorough substitution and intercalation exploration, especially on the transition metal and rare earth element. • Mapping complete phase diagrams of ternary transition metal oxide, halide and chalcogenide for crystal growth. • Grow single crystal under extreme conditions such as ultra-high pressure and high temperature. • Explore frustrated and low dimensional systems in search of possible new physics.
