abstract:
In this talk, I will give a brief introduction on the generation and manipulation of pure spin current. I will discuss several important discoveries in spintronics. And I will focus on a novel type of spin Hall effect (SHE), the magnetization dependent spin Hall effect (MDSHE), which breaks the orthogonal relation among the charge current, spin current, and spin orientation beyond the conventional SHE. The MDSHE allows arbitrary spin accumulation at the film surface controlled by magnetization. These relativistic transport properties have great potential for future electronic, quantum devices, and spintronic applications.
